Below Average White Band (Mike Burger, Craig Barker, Dwight Kidder,
Dave Wallace) beat Tia and the TRASHmen (Brian Weikle, Dave Dornan,
Tim Varecka, Tia Karelson) in an exciting final round to win the
first Viva TRASH Vegas tournament Sunday at the Hampton Inn Tropicana
in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Eighteen teams converged on Sin City to compete in the tournament, as
well as attend the Second Game Show Congress, which brought together
personalities, critics and fans of the genre. Several GSC
participants attended TRASH games, with an overflow crowd enjoying
the finals.

TRASH also staged a benefit raffle, with proceeds benefitting Teach
for America (which, BTW, will receive more than $2000 in donations
from this tourney, including a Zeecraft Tech buzzer system!). Andrew
Feist, who played for Warren Zevon Fan Club, was the big winner,
winning four tickets to see Penn and Teller at the Rio Hotel/Casino.
