Re: [quizbowl] Questions for first practices (Was Trivial Pursuit and Quizbowl)

I like Andy's idea, but I would offer a slight modification. At Texas A&M this year, we have had much more interest than ever before, and one way we have tried to foster this is by slowly building up our question difficulty. We have started our first few practices with a packet or two of high school questions. On these we try to keep the more expierienced players back and let the new guys have fun. We usually then do 3-4 packets of Junior Bird stuff, and maybe a little ACF fall. This format seems to let people have fun while at the same time giving them some idea of what is expected.
The only trouble we are running into is that our question database is somewhat small after the civil war we just finished. If anyone has any questions they'd like to share, especially of the ACF Fall like difficulty level, we would be much obliged. One final note, be sure to look for Texas A&M at all the regional events this year, and if the budget gods smile on us, maybe even a national tournament or two. We may not have the big guns anymore, but we still love Quiz Bowl and have fun playing it.
