Kilogram means "one thousand grams" in Greek rather than English -
while College Bowl is considering holding their Region XVI tourney in
Athens next year, Science Bowl has never done so.

I actually empathize with Science Bowl to a large degree - in science
much more than in other fields, precision is essential (tell someone
that the drawings only had some small errors when your bridge
collapses). That said, however, I'd still accept the proposed answer
since one kilogram is not only the same as one thousand grams, but
another part of the metric system (an answer in pounds or Egyptian
cubits would not work, even if it was right).
