Hi all, Full results for the 2003 Grinnell Undergraduate Tournament may now be found at http://www.grinnell.edu/groups/quizbowl/gut.html . Sort of, at any rate. Those of you who were present may remember that timely posting of stats was probably our biggest problem on tournament day, mainly made so by the fact that a) The computer hooked up to the projector wouldn't save and b) The computer that could save wouldn't hook up to the projector. As such, the stats on the website are grievously incomplete, as I didn't realize that the stats on my computer did not reflect the final stats as entered on the computer in Tournament Central. All prizes awarded on tournament day were awarded correctly, though you wouldn't guess it from the stats currently on the webpage. I think that most of the final standings were not SIGNIFICANTLY different from how it actually ended up. If you see something that is clearly an error, however (e.g. you KNOW your team had one more win than the page says it does), please email me so I can remedy the situation. I am terribly sorry for this, and we will be sure to run this aspect of the tournament more smoothly in the future. That said, I have some thanks to offer. First, we are indebted to all of the teams for bringing an overabundance of buzzer systems, without which this tournament could not have happened at all. I would also like to thank Eric Hillemann, Michael Falk, and the moderator from Iowa whose name completely escapes me at the moment (I have the face in my head, I SHOULD know who it was, and I apologize for being dumb) for offering their moderating abilities and general guidance. Finally, I would like to thank R. Hentzel and NAQT for their advice and help in making this tournament happen. We are in all of your debts. As this was our first tournament, constructive criticism is welcomed and appreciated so that we can make your experience more enjoyable the next time around. Thank you to all teams for coming out, and congratulations again to Carleton Tofu for their first place finish! Cheers, Brad Houston
