Heinrich Boll, another matter

Rather than detract from the obviously noteworthy achievements of
the teams and players listed in my previous message, I want to take
a separate post for this.

This year's Heinrich Boll was not something I enjoyed. I have run
tournaments before (and run them well, I'm told), and I have no
excuse for the logistical flaws that I allowed into this event. So
first, I want to apologize to the attending teams for these flaws,
namely the initial time delay; the lack of up-to-date standings; the
compensatory change in playoff format which I believed was necessary
to get everyone back on the road at a decent hour; and the general
sense of an ill-run event.

In the face of all this, I am grateful for well-meaning condolences,
undeserved though they may be, as well as praise for the question
quality that I have received from attendees. And, in light of this,
I offer what reparations I can in the form of the tournament set,
posted for free download, to the teams that attended.

This was not my best tournament, but it is also not my last. I will
continue to write and host, and I hope that my peers in the
southeast and beyond accept my apology and grace the GT
Instructional Center with their competition in the future.

Sincerely,
Saurabh Vishnubhakat
