Hi, everyone:
Twelve teams competed in Ames, Iowa in the ACF Fall Midwest
Tournament on 1 November 2003.
In division I, Illinois A (Potru, Sorice, Ullsperger, Rothfuss) went
11-0 in the round robin while Chicago Stars of Track and Field
(Cohn, Ferrari, Koo, Reece) went 10-1. Playing in a best-of-three
playoff with a one-game advantage to Illinois, Chicago won both
games to take the tournament championship home.
In division II, a tie was played off at the buzzer, with 7-4 Chicago
Marx and Engels (Sagoff, Kirkpatrick, Sun, Newtson), defeating 7-4
Carleton B: Cornish Pixies (Carr, Parrish, Hope, Morse). Marx and
Engels then were defeated by 8-3 Carleton A: The Squirrel of Strife
(Lyon, Rousseau), who won their division's title.
The leading scorers were:
Ezra Lyon, Carleton A (73.64 PPG)
Ed Cohn, Chicago Stars (51.82 PPG)
Kelly Tourdot, Illinois B (42.27 PPG)
and Andrew Ullsperger, Illinois A (40.00 PPG).
