Very Brief SNEWT Results

Twenty-two teams came to Swarthmore for the eighth annual incarnation of the
Mid-Atlantic's largest (and oldest) juniorbird tournament, SNEWT.

Virginia mopped the floor with the competition; going 13-0 over ten prelim and
three playoff games while everyone else had at least three losses. Three
teams: UPenn A; Princeton; and Swat C; were tied for second with 9-1 prelim
records and 2-3 playoff bracket records; Penn was awarded 2nd based on
defeating Princeton and Swat head-to-head, and Princeton was awarded third
based on defeating Swat head-to-head. CMU and Pitt rounded out the top
bracket. In general, the playoff brackets were an absolute mess, as there
were many teams who left at varying stages of early, including CMU and Pitt,
who decided to not play the final round and call it a draw (it was already a
long day with many questions, and I don't blame them, though it will make
determining final standings next to impossible). Ergo, it'll be quite awhile
before we sort all of that out; but we do have nice prelim stats (sadly, not
by SQBS, sice we were using a Mac) that will be posted in some form within a
few days.

The top four scorers were Will from Pitt; Shah from Rutgers-Newark; Dan from
Princeton A; and Dan from Swat C. Elliot from CMU (last year's top scorer,
fifth this year) negged his way to glory.

Me sleep now. Me have TRASH to worry about.
