Re: [quizbowl] Great Lakes TRASH results

As captain of the "Athenian Tragedies" I would like to thank Adam and the University of Western Ontario for hosting a very smooth Great Lakes TRASH regional.

I would also like to thank all 11 of our opponents for some excellent games, and even in the games in which we were slaughtered, we learned a lot.

As some of you know, it was our first Quiz Bowl experience and my father and I were pleasantly surprised by our performance in the tournament and I am currently attempting to get a full Brock University team together, with the full intent of attending many more tournaments in the future.

Again, thanks again to everybody at the tournament for a great day in London! :-)

Twelve teams (UWO, Toronto, Brock, 2 McMaster, 4 Michigan, and 3
Rochester) played at the Great Lakes TRASH Regional at the University
  of Western Ontario today.

There was a full round-robin. After 11 games, the Mike Keenan
Employment Agency LLC and Evil Reptilian Kitten Eaters From Another
Planet (both from Michigan) were tied 10-1, and Charles Taylor's All
Stars (Michigan) and Crazy Go Nuts University (Rochester) were tied
8-3. None of the teams wanted to play a tiebreaker game.

The Athenian Tragedies (Brock), Homestar's Knees Tech (Rochester), and
Castro Inc. (McMaster) were all tied 3-8 for 8th place, but they did
not want to play extra games either. They were all 1-1 against each
other, so based on total points they are ranked Tragedies, Homestar,
  and Castro.

Craig Barker of the Keenans was the highest scorer with 65.44 PPG, and
he won a toy dart gun.

I'll have to tweak the stats a bit more later for aesthetic purposes,
but the statistics themselves are finished. They can be found at:

  http://www.usc.uwo.ca/clubs/quiz-bowl/trashreg03_standings.html

Thanks to all the teams who came, and also to Jonathan Altman, Keith
Pawluk, Mike Plyley, Vincent Shiao, Kevin Olmstead, and George
  Flevares for reading.
