It's an interesting topic, and while it's still alive, I might add that there are different ways of representing your college/university. In some sense, you represent your school simply by being students there, competing. However, you do not have permission to speak for the school as a whole, or the administration. I think as liability comes, it may fall on you, or the group as a whole may have repurcussions. But when travelling, I imagine you can state that your team comes from or is comprised of students from whatever school, which would be fine for you, and for the statkeeper, and for the school.
