Georgia Tech MLK Statistics and Misc.

Stephen has already given you the Reader's Digest version, but here are
the (somewhat) raw numbers.

http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gtg844r/mlk2k4

The stats will probably be on our official website at some point in the
future, but they will also be at the URL until that server suffers a
catastrophic crash or I graduate, whichever comes first.

As for other details:

The tweleve teams were split into two pools of six. From these pools,
the top three each advances to the top bracket to play for the
championship in a round robin. Therefore, at the end of 5 rounds of
play, we had:

Pool Jay
1. USC: Jackie Treehorn Productions (5-0)
2. Kentucky A (4-1)
3. Kentucky Alpha (3-2)
4. Athens State (2-3)
5. Knights Who Say Neg (Northwest Shoals Community College) (1-4)
6. Georgia Tech B (0-5)

Pool Jojo
1. Wallowing in Our Own Crapulence (5-0)
2. Kentucky 1 (3-2)
2. Georgia Tech A (3-2)
2. Furman (3-2)
5. USC: Logjammin' (1-4)
6. Berry (0-5)

The three-way circle of death in the Jojo pool was broken using average
margin of victory, so the the playoff brackets were as such:

Upper bracket
1. Wallowing in Our Own Crapulence (5-0, 10-0)
2. USC: Jackie Treehorn Productions (4-1, 9-1)
3. Kentucky A (2-3, 6-4)
4. Kentucky 1 (3-2, 6-4)
5. Kentucky Alpha (1-4, 4-6)
6. Georgia Tech A (0-5, 3-7)

Lower bracket
1. Furman (4-0, 7-2)
2. Athens State (3-1, 5-4)
3. USC: Logjammin' (2-2, 3-6)
4. Knights Who Say Neg (1-3, 2-7)
5. Georgia Tech B (0-4, 0-9)
6. Berry (left after lunch)

Standings at the end of the day were calculated using the entire day's
statistics. (This is why UK A finished ahed of UK 1 overall).

As explained before, WIOOC was a bastard team and thus not eligible for
team awards. Therefore, the University of South Carolina's A team was
awarded the championship, with Kentucky A as the runner up. Furman won
the lower bracket and was also the highest placing Division II team.

Anyway, I need to get some sleep. Again, a massive thanks to all teams
and such who came to Atlanta today, and we hope to see everyone again in
the future.
