So far we expect a field of about 20 teams for Sword Bowl 2004 at
UT-Chattanooga on Sat. 1/24/04. If you missed earlier announcements,
this is a "junior bird" quizbowl tournament for players in their first
or second year of intercollegiate competition, and for teams from
two-year schools. Past experience in College Bowl, Inc., or the Honda
Campus All-Star Challenge is not counted against the eligibility
limit. We believe Sword Bowl is good preparation for both those
tournaments, and an excellent introduction for novice teams to the
independent quizbowl tournament circuit. If you need further details,
or directions to the spiffy new building, let me know [steinhic (at)
bellsouth (dot) net] and I'll be glad to supply 'em. There's still
room, as long as you reserve a spot by either Wed. 1/21/04 or whenever
we reach full capacity, whichever comes first.

I believe Georgia Tech is also coming, but I don't know how many
