No offense to the team from Georgia Tech in
particular, but how did they get a bid? Based on stats on the
NAQT SCT Results page, they averaged 201.15 PPG, had
52 negs in 13 games, and had a bonus conversion of
14.90 -- and this also in a section which IMHO was one
of the weaker ones. There are probably half a dozen
teams not invited who had better stats overall,
including my own, Hopkins (231.36 PPG, 20 negs in 11 games,
bonus conversion 15.10). (GT A did have more power
toss-ups than we did, but that was it).
I guess my
question, then is: if these aren't the stats that matter,
then what are?
