Now it's my turn....

To begin with, I do not speak officially for the UGA CBAT...I speak
as a member of the group who has had enough.

First of all, Georgia attended TWO (yes TWO) academic tournaments
this year, and while Im sorry you dont think CBI is your cup of tea,
we do, and coming in second while almost beating the defending champs
is pretty DAMN good in my eyes. Our travel budget is sort of thin, so
we can't go to every Tom Dick and Harry tournament we want, so we
stick with what works.

Second, Georgia is NOT a shell of its former self, and I would like
to find someone other than Mr. Wiener who thinks the same way. The
reason for our low academic play is simple: we hosted nearly every
damn tournament this year and our players play tested the packets for
said tournaments so we could have readers. So in a way, they played
many more tournaments than you think. Also, we practice every time
with a plethora of academic questions, some of which date back to the
first Bush I, so tell me where we've imploded?

Third- Trash. As mentioned by Mr. Franklin, those who attend
Trash/TRASH tournaments under the Georgia name are ALUMNI, which,
Matt, if you check the dictionary, means "graduate of a college."
Most of my main players dont care for Trash, and I dont push the
issue on them. Oddly enough, our most successful tournament was a
Trash one held on Jekyll Island. What does that tell you?

Fourth- Believe it or not I was on a team that stared at a wall and
missed five TUs in a row. It was at UVA in 1996. ACF in my eyes
means "A Crappy Format," and even my best player, who was the in the
top five Nationally at NAQT, agrees with that sentiment. Listening to
questions that're five miles long (or worse, reading them) in a
round that last 45 minutes isnt my cup of tea, but if you like it,
that's cool. We however, do not.

Fifth...it's a freakin' summer tournament. In my eyes, summer
tournaments shouldn't be the gaunlet of mind numbing questions about
Alexander the Great's horse's vet's brother's mother's second cousin
who wrote some obscure book that no one who lives a normal life gives
a crap about. People have been talking about a summer tournament so
they can at least *play*, regardless of the format.

and finally- I wish to extend a hearty thanks to Matt. Believe it or
not, in the short twelve hours after I announced this, Ive had two
schools express interest, so thanks Mr. Wiener- your attacks have
brought me free publicity. If any one is interested, please email me.

PS- One other thing....Can't we all just get along?
(If you dont know where that was from, then you obviously don't play
trash and aren't THAT well-rounded.)
