The Third Annual Game Show Congress (GSC3), is a seminar covering television, radio, and internet broadcast game shows and game operas, along with restaurant, pub, and other quiz events. The Game Show Congress also recognizes and awards excellence by contestants, writers, producers, hosts, shows, and others that are involved in this segment of the entertainment industry. The GSC3 seminar will be held on Sunday, August 15th 2003 from 11am to 9pm, with visits to shows and other events in southern California on Friday August 13th through Tuesday August 17th. The meeting will be held at the Hilton Hotel, 2500 N Hollywood Way, Burbank, California 91505. A highlight for GSC3 is the luncheon award presentations and testimonials by celebrities of the game show industry to establish the Bill Cullen Career Achievement award, to be accepted by Ann Cullen, and the Ralph Edwards Career Community Service award, to be accepted by Gary Edwards. Other Sunday August 15th sessions include: · Game Show Pitch Session – ideas for new shows or events · Hosting a Quiz Bowl – a training ground for contestants · How to be a great contestant · Losers Panel – What went wrong? · Internet Trivia – associated with television or local events and as its own outlet · Pub Quiz – the original game show · A Tournament of Home Game Editions, to qualify to play the Game Show Quiz · Writing Workshop - how to write entertaining, challenging, and concise questions · Legal and Financial Aspects of being a contestant – how much will this prize cost me? Many top contestants will be in attendance, including the top 3 winners (through April 2004) in television game show history. The GSC as a group will attend tapings of Wheel of Fortune, The Price Is Right, and Jeopardy!, and will visit the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Play It! exhibit at Disney California Adventure.
