I am directed to inform quizbowl-dom that, after
downsizing the NAQT ICT Division I field for this year from
its previous 48 teams to an announced 40, NAQT has
belatedly realized that the schedule we want to use calling
for six preliminary rounds Friday night works best if
we have a field that is evenly divisible by six.
(Yes, we should have figured this out before; no, we
didn't.) Therefore, we are now expanding back up slightly,
to 42 teams in Division I. There is no change to
what has been announced previously with regard to
Division II.
Texas A&M and Johns Hopkins
University, who had been informed that they were 1st and 2nd
on the Division I waitlist now receive full
invitations to the ICT.
