We have about 12 teams signed up so far for the 5th annual Novice Invitational at USF on Nov. 6. Please contact jeremycec at msn.com to register with the number of teams, readers, and buzzers you will be bringing. We are using NAQT IS-44. This tourney is a great way to introduce your newer players to quiz bowl competition. We will provide official receipts at the tournament. FYI, the "Quiz Bowl Team at USF" is a non-profit organization, but it is not chartered as a 501(c)3 organization. Our Federal Tax ID number is 593627376. Eligibility: The tournament field is open to teams composed of players in their first or second year of collegiate quiz bowl competition, all of whom attend the same school (different campuses OK). The tournament field will be capped at 24 teams for logistical reasons; so, please get in your registration as soon as possible. Format: Each match will consist of 20 tossups and bonuses, divided into two untimed halves. The tournament will consist of some form of round robin followed by a playoff to decide the tournament champion. Schedule: Team sign-in is from 8-9 a.m. in Room 101 of the Marshall Center. Lunch: We will provide pizza and soft drinks for lunch at the tournament so that everyone does not have to go out to eat. We will leave out a box for donations.
