Hi quizbowlers,
I'm from the stanford quizbowl team, and i'm doing my linguistics term
paper on the language of quizbowl. i'm attempting to gather data/do
research.....
i'm consulting the lexicon on our team webpage, as well as that of
berkeley, ucla, caltech...
the obvious things i'll talk about.. "bagel" "to power" "to neg", etc...
but i'm looking for more unique terms and words that are used in
quizbowl...
also, i wanted to analyze the structure of quizbowl questions. the
pronoun usage, types of words that give away the answer, etc..
if anybody has a link to a website with their school's lexicon, please
email it to me..
also, does anybody else have any examples of interesting linguistic
pheonomena of QB?
