Looking at the Manu team results, noticing that one team had 48 negs
to balance(?) 48 tossups, I said to myself, "Wow. The quizbowl world
hasn't seen stats shaped like that since Nathan Freeburg's early
years, circa 1999!" Then I went to the team detail and saw that that
was indeed Nathan, playing solo. Wow. Nathan, you've never been one
to choke up on the bat and refrain from taking your cuts, but, well,
just ... wow.
My other "wow" was for another balanced stat: Andrew's 17 powers --
more than any other full team had -- to go with his 17 negs. (Plus 66
other tossups.) Smokin'!
I was sorry I couldn't attend.
