Snow Cat III Reminder

The Snow CAT is coming up on the 28th.
This is a High School tournament hosted by Carleton College. Teams
from all states are invited to attend and the top Minnesota team will
win a spot in the "Face-Off Minnesota" tournament sponsored by Border
Foods.

Location:
Teams should meet in Olin 149. Games will be held in Olin and
surrounding buildings on the Carleton College campus. Any maps needed
to get to Northfield to navigate the campus can be found here
(http://apps.carleton.edu/student/transport/). The best place to park
would be in front of Nourse Hall, though parking in any lot or street
side would be fine.

Time:
Teams should check-in at Olin 149 between 8:30 and 9 AM.
There will be a short meeting and then games will begin.
A more definite schedule and tournament format will be determined at a
later time, though each team should receive at least six games.

Fees and Registration:
The base fee for the tournament is $70 per team. There is a $10
single discount for bringing a working lockout system and a $10 dollar
penalty for registering after January 23rd, 2006. The fee includes
one printed copy of the questions used at the tournament that will be
handed out after the conclusion of the tournament.
Teams will pay at check in at the tournament and checks can be made
out to "Carleton Academic Quiz Team"

tournament please e-mail Jack Rousseau at rousseaj(_at_) carleton(.) edu.

Eligibility and Qualification:
All high schools (public, private, magnet, charter, religious, etc.)
are eligible to compete in this event and no prior qualification is
necessary. Teams from home school collectives are also welcome. If
you have a special situation please e-mail the eligibility committee
(eligibility_at_...) in advance for a ruling.
Schools are encouraged to enter multiple teams, but please note that
players must play for the same team throughout the tournament.

Question Security:
This tournament will be using question set #56, provided by National
Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC. Teams are responsible for making sure
they have not and will not attend another tournament that has or will
use this set. Check www.naqt.com for information about packet use at
tournaments.

The tournament will follow the standard NAQT tossup-bonus format.
Teams new to the format are encouraged to read the rules on www.naqt.com.
