Of course, it seems that most everyone criticizing the date-jacking 
had a direct interest in the quality/existence of BUTT and its 
progeny of mirrors, so people are rightfully expressing their 
concern over this "regional incident". 

The "future implications" of this episode are very real. If it 
becomes acceptable and widespread to undercut other people's 
tournament dates in the same region as had occurred in this 
incident, a great deal of the incentive for hard work in putting 
together a quality tournament will be lost. I doubt this will be the 
case, but it is something to consider.
