Re: 'Ideal' number of rounds?

I don't have a problem with one day tournaments
if a sizeable amount of rounds are included. As much
as I enjoyed playing at the southeastern ACF
regionals this year (and it was a very well-run
tournament), I traveled quite a distance to get 10 rounds. If
I remember right, we didn't even start playing
until 10:30 a.m. I'm not adverse to starting a
tournament at 8:00 or 8:30 a.m. if that will result in a
decent amount of rounds. In addition, why not cut lunch
down to half an hour and order in pizza (and add it to
the registration fee) as several tournaments have
done? That gets in another round and avoids the
inevitable delays from teams returning late from lunch.
Anyone ever seen a 1 hour lunch actually conclude with
everyone back at 1:00?
