Penn Bowl 16

Date:  Saturday January 20, 2007

Location:  University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA

Format:  Untimed round robin and playoffs.  We will cap at 32 teams.

This year, Penn Bowl is being edited by a team led by Matt Weiner.  
This should remove any problems Penn Bowl has had with editing in 
the last couple of years.  I think that the questions this year 
should be great, and they will be accessible even to juniorbird 
level teams.  This tournament should be a lot of fun, and I hope 
you'll all attend.  If you are interested in hosting a Penn Bowl 
mirror, please contact Matt Weiner.

Eligibility:  Any college team

Packet Requirement:  24/24

Entry Fees:

Base:  1st Team:  $100  2nd Team:  $80  After 2nd:  $60

Packet Discounts and Penalties: 

Teams with no players who participated in tournaments before 
September 1, 2005 are not required to submit a packet, but may do so 
for a $25 credit before 12/23, or a $10 before 1/6

Packet by 11/25/06:  -$25
Packet after 11/25/06, but before 12/9/06:  -$10
Packet after 12/9/06, but before 12/23/06:  +$0
Packet after 12/23/06, but before 12/30/06:  +$10
Packet after 12/30/06, but before 1/6/07:  +$25
No packet:  +$40 or rejection from tournament
Negligence of packet guidelines:  +15 or packet thrown out

Equipment/Personnel Discounts:

1st Buzzer:  -$10   Each additional buzzer:  -$15
1st Moderator: -$20  Each additional moderator:  -$25

Travel Discounts per Team

>500 miles (one way):  -$10
>700 miles (one way):  -$30
>1000 miles (one way):  -$50
>2000 miles (one way):  -$70
Canadian Teams (one way):  -$50

Missed Penn Bowl 15:  -$10
Missed last 3 years:  -$30

Travel and new team discounts are mutually exclusive.
