TrashMasters: final field update, Sunday event, etc.

With less than 72 hours to go, we're still expecting a 12-team field
for TrashMasters 2006 on Sat., Dec. 2. So I don't have to
overprepare the schedules, I'm capping the field at 13 teams,
leaving room for one last-minute team at the no-packet price ($120
for a novice team or $140 for a more experienced team that should
have known to send me a packet by now.) Several of the teams
listed below are still fishing for available free agents; let us
know at utcquizbowl [at] gmail [dot] com if you're interested.

The teams are listed below, but first let's cover Sunday morning.
As you may recall, this year by popular demand we switched
TrashMasters to a Saturday-only format. For the out-of-towners and
those who just can't get enough trash, we are having an all-audio
singles tournament Sunday 12/3, starting at 9 AM and ending no later
than 12:30 PM. The event will be held in Grote 129. John Kilby
will conduct a series of audio quizzes, setting up a final
buzzerfest. Mike Burger has graciously consented to run his ever-
popular game show round while John et al. grade papers and figure
out who qualifies for the finals.

Since this is a beta version of an all-audio format, we are not
charging fees per se. If you participated in TrashMasters as
either player or official, the only entry requirement is for you to
show up Sunday AM. Anyone who did not participate at Trashmasters
can still take part, provided you promise to submit by 12/31/06 a
small batch of original questions (5 tossups and 5 boni) for either
Sword Bowl (our January college junior bird tournament) or for our
March high school tournament.

But back to TrashMasters itself: Remember registration begins Sat.
AM 12/2 at 9 AM, with the K-Tel Hell prelims beginning a 10 AM and
tournament play starting immediately thereafter. We plan to take a
late lunch break, probably after 2 PM, so we'll have donuts, juice,
and milk on hand Sat. AM.

Here are the teams I have as of tonight. Amazingly the list is
unchanged from the last update, except where the names have been
changed to amuse the sentient. Please let me know if your status or
team name has changed, or (again) if you plan to attend as a free
agent. Thanks.
