UCI on June 2nd- be there for Ocasque 1

Ladies and gentlemen, UCI is proud to (re)announce the first annual:

OCASQUE 1: The Real Quiz Bowlers of Orange County

(open to non-residents of the OC, naturally)

This will be a fun tournament (as you can clearly see by the fun title).
It's the first annual one, so you can be the first to particpate in a brand
new and trendsetting tournament. And it's also:

OPEN!

That's right, anyone can play. Imagine the craziness. College students and
high school students! College grads and undergrads! Chimpanzees and
tortoises! The possibilities are endless.

Here's the facts of the tournament (the way Jack Webb would want them):

Who: You! (hopefully) No matter who "you" may be. Remember, this tournament
is so open, I think a breeze is starting to come in.

A basic rule: High schoolers can play on teams of 4, collegiates, only teams
of 3.

What: A mirror of the High School National Championship, NAQT style. For
difficulty gauging, you can look here:

http://www.naqt.com/samples/index.html (it'll be the link at the bottom of
the list (labeled "high school national championship
packet")<http://www.naqt.com/samples/index.html>

When: Saturday June 2nd. From 9 to 5 (what a way to make a living)
Where: The beautiful UC Irvine campus, but of course. In Humanities Hall, as
well. (if you need directions, let someone know)
Why: Because we can!

Here's the financial information:

Base registration fee:

$85/team

Discounts:

-$10/team for 2nd and additional teams from the same school

-$10/working lockout system (may limit to one/team)

-$20/ pre-approved moderator (need to get approval from Ray Anderson - we
may need a limited number)

+$15/team for paying after the tournament date.

The registration fee also includes one set of the HSNCT questions per
school.

Teams will pay when they check in at the tournament site. Please make checks
out to "College Bowl Club - ASUCI".

We here at UCI want to thank everyone for supporting our upstart tournament
in its inaugural throes. And we hope to be getting some sign-ups in the near
future. We plan at the moment to support 14 teams at present, so you'll want
to get those spots while they're still available!

If you'd like to attend this tournament, either fire an email to me, Jason
"Awesome" Luna (jluna_at_...), or our wonderful Tournament Director, Ray
Anderson (r.g.anderson_at_...).

Thank you so much,

-Jason
