Second, though I was one
opposed to implementing the character class system (I
voiced my opinion privately), I like the idea of
experimenting with it. Pending approval from Jon and Hassaan, I
asked two things:
(1) If playoffs can last two
rounds for everyone (championship and consolation
semifinal round, followed by "gold medal", "bronze medal",
5th place, and 7th place games); AND
(2) If in
every consolation round (two rounds for the bottom four
teams plus the bronze medal game) the character class
system can be put into effect. This way, a majority of
teams can see what it is like, but no game on the road
to the championship will be decided by
it.
Seems like a decent compromise, but I'm just going to
be a moderator there...
