Staying in a hotel last night while travelling, I
happened upon a qb-related movie. HBO produced this movie
called (I think) "Cheaters" about a team of high school
academic decathletes at a poor Illinois school coached by
Jeff Daniels that manages to get a copy of the State
championship written test. They conspire together to cheat,
and win over the perennial champion team, only to be
found out later. It is very similar to "Stand and
Deliver", except that they really did cheat. :-) The
moralizing and rationalization of the idealistic coach is
the main focus of the movie.
The story is
supposed to be fact-based, and occured in the mid-90's.
Anyone else see it? Anyone know of the real
story?
