As a quizbowl player, I tend to outright suck at
capital-country questions (luckily I had two killer frosh by my
side this year who knew that stuff cold). I can't do
European rivers very well. And yet, I made the final ten
at the Ohio State Geography Bee, mostly on the basis
of cultural geography, (which seems undervalued as a
component of quizbowl, BTW).
Take that for what it's
worth.
