QB Fantasy Soccer (from qb-sports)

This message is to gauge interest in
participating in a fantasy soccer league this
summer/fall.

I recently purchased FIFA 2000 for my PC, and while
it is the single greatest soccer game ever created,
I wanted to do something original with it. Hence,
this.

Here's how it would work. Starting today is the
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE OF DOOM (don't ask about the
capitalization, it's an inside joke). Any time
between now and
168 hours from now (2:00:00 PM EDT 7/17/2000 by this
here computer), you may ask for a team. One per
customer. 24 team cap, not
that I anticipate it being a
problem. First come, first serve.

Now, I'm not sure
which variation of the league would be best, so I'm
offering you the option here. Team selection will consist
of one of two
methods:

a) Your team is one
of the 300 or so clubs in the game from the top
divisions in Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, England, France,
Germany, Greece,
Holland, Israel, Italy, MLS, Norway,
Scotland, Spain, Sweden, or some other assorted team;
OR

b) Your team is a composite of players from any one
of said clubs, provided you stay within your salary
cap (which will be fixed at approximately 18 times
the average salary of the players in the game,
whatever that is).

Should option b wind up being
chosen, I will send a (really really) long list to each
owner (AND NOT TO THIS GROUP) which will list the
players by
position, along with giving their salary.
The draft would then be held in late July through
means that will be told to the owners and
wouldn't
involve their being in a chatroom at any
time.

Games should start either in August or in September,
depending on how long the owners would want to work trades
and free agent signings.
Unless two owners really
really want to play their game live (and both must agree
to it), I would sim the matches on the computer and
report the score, goal tally, and card tally for each.
When the season is over, there will be a playoff of
some sort. Lengths of season and playoff type
will
be determined once I figure out the number of
teams.

your name, email address, vote on whether we should
have a draft, your franchise name (if we have a draft,
must be <10 characters), and your top three choices
for real club (should we not have a draft). Thank you
