Re: CP2 Review

Guitar lesson got cancelled...guess I'm
back.

Anyway, in reviewing CP2, one should look at what DIDN'T
happen. The packets were all done a few days beforehand,
giving Shawn time to tweak them all. The schedule, once
it got bumped back an hour, ran on time thereafter.
All the buzzers worked. All the moderators were
sober. Fights did not break out. There were no glaringly
deviant packets in distribution or difficulty. And based
on the results compared to previous results, at
least, I'd say that CP2 made a fair comparison of the
playing teams.

Judging that, I'd say that when you
look on CP2 for what it is, it's worth something: a
team that didn't exist this time last year set about
to write and conduct a complete, 15-round,
21/21-per-round tournament, and in this they succeeded. This is,
in itself, a notable achievement. Certainly, anyone
who continues to begrudge Shawn Pickrell for Harvest
Bowl, at this point, after this tournament, does so
only out of wickedness.
