Puppy Chow DATE CHANGE - 10/21/00

To anyone who was thinking about going to
CPC4:

Due to the weekend of the 14th being homecoming at
BU, room reservations are even more of a pain to deal
with than they are on a regular basis. So for that
reason, Crimson Puppy Chow IV, the junior-bird being
jointly held by BU and Harvard, has been rescheduled for
one week later, on Saturday, October 21st. I know
Cornell already has a tournament planned for that day,
but I think we'll be attracting different crowds,
since ours is no submission NAQT, while they're
offering packet submission ACF.

Here's a re-post of
the announcement, which can also be seen at
<a href=http://people.bu.edu/qbowl/cpc4.html. target=new>http://people.bu.edu/qbowl/cpc4.html.</a> I encourage you all to come to Boston on the
21st! Thanks all.

Boston University, in
conjunction with Harvard University, is proud to announce
Crimson Puppy Chow IV: Dog Day Afternoon, to be held at
Boston Universitys College of Arts and Sciences on
Saturday October 21st, 2000. This event typically serves
as a tune-up for the year and a way for newer
players to gain experience competing against their peers.
Dont see any reason to screw with that balance, so
well stick with it for another year.

Continuing
in the tradition of previous CPCs, this years
tournament will be a junior bird event. Players are only
eligible if they've had one year or less of collegiate
tournament experience through NAQT, TRASH, or CBI play.
(EXCEPTION: Players with only CBI experience will be given
leniency up to two years of experience, since CBI only
holds tournaments once or twice a year.)

To that
end, players of all ages and academic levels are
eligible, so long as they meet that experience requirement.
A 17 year old freshman is just as eligible as a 29
year old doctoral candidate, as long as both have had
one year or less of collegiate play. Rules will be
modified NAQT: no clocks will be used. All rules will be
enforced and in effect except those dealing with game
clocks. Questions will be provided by NAQT, LLC
(<a href=http://www.naqt.com target=new>http://www.naqt.com</a>), so no submissions will be required.

Fees
will go as follows:
$90 base fee
-$10 per
competent moderator
-$10 per working buzzer
system
-$10 for each extra team after the first
$60
minimum fee/team*

*NOTE: Teams without an
established program, as well as teams working to establish a
relatively new program, may be given leniency in entry fees.
Just ask!

To register, please contact either
Harvard College Bowl (cbowl_at_...) or BU
College Bowl (qbowl_at_...) Registrations have begun
being accepted, and will be open up to and including
Wednesday, October 18th, 2000. Any teams playing will need
to send us team names and, if possible, a player
roster, before that date as well.

If any team or
player has any questions on format, fees, anything,
please dont hesitate to ask. Hope to see you in Boston
on the 21st!
