Great Lakes TRASH Regional 2000 Info

Michigan
Academic Competitions (MAC), in conjunction with the Mike
Keenan Employment Agency (MiKEA) and the "Big Brother"
house [IKEA], will be presenting the TRASH regionals
for the Great Lakes Region on either November 4 or
November 5 on the bucolic central campus of the University
of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Join us for the
fun, frivolity, and the ferreting of fascinating facts
on the facets of faceitous fandom of fabricated
fulfillment.

Date: Unlike the following Tuesday, we
actually give you a discernable choice. Some people have
wanted a Saturday tournament, because, tournaments are
usually held on Saturdays. Others want the tournament on
Sunday so they can handle the usual campus activities
associated with a fall Saturday. So, it's your call. When
you fill out your registration form, please indicate
either Saturday or Sunday. We will announce the results
of the date by October 16. In either case,
registration will start at 8:30, the mass meeting at 9:00 and
play at 9:15. All registrations must be received by
November 1.

Money: Your first team will cost $80.
Your second and subsequent teams will cost $60. You
will receive a $5 discount per working buzzer system
and/or audio equipment (if needed) with a max discount
of $15. Bringing a malfunctioning system will
increase your cost by $20. Bringing a staff member will
reduce your fee by $10 per person. Bringing a
malfunctioning person will increase your cost by $20. Bringing a
clock will increase your cost by $20. The minimum one
school or competitive unit must pay is $50. For
Canadians, your cute little pieces of paper you fondly refer
to as "money" will be accepted at par, but you must
convert it to real money before giving it to us.

Who's running this thing: The Mike Keenan Employment
Agency will be making full use of the automatic bid and
will sail to the finals instead of risking it during
the regional. In exchange for that, we're running the
thing. Your co-tournament directors are Craig Barker
(cdbarker_at_...) and Mike Burger (mmb5_at_...). E-mail them
if you have any questions.
