"I remember that neg very well. But I remember
that we had gotten through way more musicals than two,
including "Hair" and "Little Shop of Horrors." I think the
answer of exclamation marks just confused us more than
anything!"
Then again, maybe I wouldn't have had so many bad negs
if some people hadn't had the annoying tendency of
writing down the correct answer to the tossup at JCV
while the moderator was still reading it and sort of
forgetting to - oh, I don't know, BUZZ IN. :-)
My
all-time worst occurred at TRASHionals at Penn State - as
the moderator started the last tossup on the last
packet, I immediately buzzed in and said "Total Recall"
(assuming a trick from the previous year's tourney). I
would have found out after two or three words that I
was wrong.
