Re: Negs

I've been away from the club for a while, but
this conversation has compelled me to post. I was on
an excellent high school team that produced a
virtual encyclopedia of hilarious negs/incorrect
responses.

Our best: Answering "A circumcision" when
handed a picture of a Burgher of Calais and asked "What
is depicted here?" The guy had some sort of
implement in his hand, which was placed near his
crotch.
I once answered that St. Francis of Assisi had
"astigmatism," a teammate of mine once said that the 969 year
old man in the bible was "Mephistopholes," and the
river that runs through Terre Haute, IN is called the
"Washab."

Also, at a high school tournament last
year, I heard two separate high school teams buzz in
early on the question "This writer wrote a lot of
juvenalia," with the answer "Juvenal."
