RESULTS: TRASH South Regionals

On Nov. 5, despite unmarked campus roads and lots
of late-night driving, seven teams competed in the
TRASH South Regionals at the University of Georgia.
After a double round robin, Florida went undefeated,
followed by Lee and UGA. Teams with identical records were
placed based on head-to-head results, followed by point
differential of those head-to-head games.

First and second place teams
received Magic:The Gathering demo starter deck packs, and
third place received packages of Sponch, a
marshmallow-coconut-cookie Mexican-import confection in stock at fine
Chevron stations near you.

However, even more
important are the winners of the toga contest. A whopping
three teams arrived in costume, and the following
awards were given:
Best Toga, male: Kelly from
Free
Best Toga, female: Kim from Loop 10
Best Toga,
team: Loop 10, My Ass!

Individual winners were
given copies of "Bad as I Want to Dress: the Dennis
Rodman Paper Doll Book". Loop 10 received M:TG packs,
and as consolation, Ernest Borgnine Inch Nails
received Sponch.

Other individual awards included
the Title IX prize for highest-scoring female (a
genuine 1970s "Muppet Show" mug featuring Miss Piggy)
presented to Toni from Loop 10, and the Most Interupts
prize (the book "Bobby Knight: Countdown to
Perfection") given to Todd from Anna K.

Prizes were
also awarded to the top 10 scorers, and included
novelizations of "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" and "The Cat
from Outer Space", the "Ballads of Madison County" CD,
and "Sherlock Holmes versus Dracula". Individual
stats can be found at the end of this post.

A
big thanks to TRASH for choosing us as hosts; to
guest moderators Phil Groce, Keith Hudson, Dave Leach,
and James Quintong; and to UGA's Eric Adams, Mark
Franklin, Brian Jenkins, David Neace, Ali Robinson, Elliott
Rountree, and Victoria Rubin for behind-the-scenes
work.

I hope that all the participants enjoyed
