although i am loath to interrupt the prostration
of TRASH superstars, there is an incredibly sad
announcement that i have to make to the qb community-- it
seems that one of the most beloved writers of our time
has passed away last thursday. this author of "I am
the Cheese" and "After the First Death," may be best
known for the 1974 "young adult" and all-time penn bowl
classic "The Chocolate War." i am speaking of course of
the one and only Robert Cormier. if you are sitting
near your own copy of this beloved tome right now
please take the time to leaf through it and reflect how
it has changed your life. then as a reward go eat
some tapioca pudding, Robert would have wanted it that
way.
