Does anybody know how Iowa handles the tally for
absentee ballots? Wisconsin or Oregon, for that matter? If
Bush won all three, then Florida would be
irrelevant.
When I went to bed last night (3 a.m. PST), Oregon was
callable for Bush. Wisconsin had just seen about its
dozenth lead change. Iowa was closing out with Bush down
about 7,000, but certainly within range.
(The
Florida state law that demanded a recount if the margin
were within 0.5%? If Iowa had a similar law, a recount
would be necessary there.)
The quiz-bowl TD in
me really wants to see the protest become
moot.
