Actually, the issue came up with the staff of the
doctor's office where I'm working right now (he has weird
hours, so I have a two hour lunch break :v), and someone
made an interesting suggestion--why not have a
"runoff" election with the top two candidates (i.e., Gore
and Bush) only?
This would apply not only to
the current election (either for Palm Beach only or
for the entire state), but could also be done for
future elections when the difference is, say, <1% of
the total votes cast.
