As for the "right of the ballot", that does not
apply to mechanical ballots, the Florida Statute states
that where necessary, the left of the name can be used
as well for mechanical ballots. Courts are likely to
defer to the judgment of the Palm Beach officials as to
"necessary"...the law's pretty clear that the presumption should be
that way. Hey, they mailed out the sample ballot to
every registered voter.
