PB10: Final thoughts on editing....

I am receiving the last of the round-robin
packets today from my teammates. I just wanted to make a
couple of points:

(1) First off, we are acting as
editors. Short of major surgery, there is only so much
that can be done with the packets.

(2) We have
done our best to ensure relative consistency of
distribution (unless, of course, people don't mind having,
say, three game show TUs in one packet :P ), and to
remove the truly evil questions from the packets. Beyond
that, though, there were many cases where we had to
leave out a question not because we didn't like it but
because we couldn't fit it in.

(3) This is a
packet-submission tournament, so things will vary from packet to
packet; that is simply a matter of fact.

We have
tried to use the vast majority of packets. If only a
few questions are used--or if your packet is not used
at all--do not take it as a slight; had the packets
been edited differently, it may have been someone
else's packet that got short shrift.

One thing I
can say with absolute certainty about this year's
Penn Bowl is that it probably represents the work of
more question writers than any other tournament ever
held (by my count, roughly 200). So please keep that
in mind this weekend.
