NAQT Sectionals: SE Stats

This just came through e-mail today, so I'm
taking the liberty of posting it here. I'm not posting
individual stats from the message here (as I think most of
you who would care are on the list), but I did go
ahead and figure out stats for bonus conversion for
those teams that had winning records and are thus
potentially up for at-large bids. Here's the e-mail Charlie
sent out:

NAQT Southeastern
Sectionals took place at UT-Chattanooga on Feb. 10.
Congratulations again to the respective
champions:

Division I -- Kentucky A 1st, Florida A 2nd, Florida
Atlantic A 3rd
Division I Undergrad -- Berry A 1st,
South Carolina A 2nd, Vanderbilt 3rd
Division II --
University of the South 1st, Florida B 2nd, South Carolina B
3rd.

With 31 teams, this was a mammoth undertaking and it
took a lot of dedicated people to make it work.
Special thanks goes to UTC stats goddess Dorothy Morisch,
who handled both the increased team volume and the
higher degree of difficulty of NAQT scorekeeping. Thanks
also to the readers and scorekeepers, many of whom
also helped out on room setup and other tournament
logistics: Toni Van Winkle, Alysia Vrailas, Kim Jones,
Shannon Moore, Wally Edmondson, David Moore, and alum
Becky Tenpenny of UTC; James Washick, Joseph Dion,
Robert Whiston, Tylere Perron, Jenni Earnest, and alums
Jason Russell and Scott Sanders, all from Lee U.;
Gordon Carper and alum John Rollins or Berry; Mark
Rupright of Florida Atlantic; Christina of Clemson; and
James Quintong, Phil Groce, Keith Hudson, Tommy Acuff,
September Young, and Dave Leach. Thanks also to Linda
Graham and Russell Morisch for collating packets and
other logistics, and to my brother Chris, who saved me
from my car's dying transmission by driving me back
and forth from a family event in Middle Tennessee so
I could show up for my own tournament. And special
thanks to the fine folks of Provino's for accepting a
huge crowd of tournament officials near closing time
on a busy Saturday night.
