You're giving yourself too
much credit, unless your being on time would have
inspired Maryland to score more points and have a better
bonus conversion throughout the day. Even if you had
beaten Penn and limited them to 100 points, they still
would have totaled about 4000 points for the day and
had a 19.51 bonus conversion. While this might have
lowered Penn's overall standing in NAQT's power ranking,
they still would have qualified (being on par with or
better than Pitt), and Maryland would
not.
