Re: Running up the score

There's an easy way to be polite: smile, wish
your weaker opponents the best of luck, [do your best
to] beat them silly, and sincerely shake hands
afterwards. This is the strategy that we at the reconstituted
Georgetown Univ. CB have tried to follow, and I think that
it has worked very well. For example, I find the
players of Dickinson (a new and most welcome addition to
the circuit) to be very friendly and polite to us,
despite the fact that we never once let up in a
school-record 500-30 victory (which we enjoyed immensely, BTW).
When you allow your opponent extra time, you imply
that he isn't worthy of your best; a truly
dishonourable attitude if there ever was one.
