Doug raises an important issue that needs to be
mentioned here. Although CBI provides the questions and
tries to provide as much guidance as possible for these
tournaments, ultimately, it's the ACUI Regional Coordinators
who make the decision on the format. These people are
appointed by ACUI, NOT CBI. And, while CBI tries very hard
to make sure that each Region uses an appropriate
format, they do not have the final say.
I think I
can confidently say that CBI would never recommend
such an asinine format as what was reported in Region
9.
My point here is that people should be venting at
ACUI here, not CBI. I promise you that we would be
having this same discussion regardless of whether the
question provider was CBI, NAQT, ACF, or (heaven help us)
Chip Beale.
