"First-year" is also
a common term in Canada. Freshmen and Frosh are
used as well, but "first-years" is the most widely
used term, I would say. (At least at UWO,
anyway)

Someone mentioned the Britishisms from that page as well,
and of course Canadian spelling is more like British
spelling than American, or at least it is supposed to
be....

I know everything else points to the person being
American, but I thought I would mention this anyways
