I don't know about movies, but there was
definitely an episode of *Saved by the Bell* that had almost
the same plot...Screech got sick right before the
academic bowl tournament because of Zach, and so he tried
to teach Zach everything he knew for the big game.
I'm not really sure how that one ended -- I haven't
seen it in years -- but that may be what you're
thinking of.
