All this stuff aside, it's fairly obvious that GO
(again, whoever that is) was using that post in order to
facilitate a personal attack on Goss, something that
(whatever one's opinion of Goss himself may be) simply does
not belong here. It's one thing to say, "It might
have been a little discourteous to start something
like a pool, get people interested in it, and then
suspend it without reason or warning" -- but that has
little to do with the content of the post in question.
The tone of the post of the post is a bit more aptly
represented by "even us confirmed hardcore quizbowl junkies
like to behold your delightful dance with ineptitude"
-- obviously a low blow, an uncalled-for insult, and
something which should not be tolerated. I probably would
have spoken on the subject earlier, were it not for
the fact that I assumed this GO guy to be some kind
of random idiot trolling, and therefore decided that
his revealing of his own spite and vindictiveness
wasn't worth my time. But there should be some way to
put a stop to this kind of stuff...
