I think the most obvious combination would be of
some form of academic tournament and Trash, given that
Trash in and of itself is far more different from
academic formats than any academic formats are among
themselves... a half-trash, half-academic tournament might be
an interesting way of settling the question of which
teams are the most well-rounded... though there would
be the problem of scheduling, as getting to play
another team in one of the trash rounds (or, alternately,
one of the academic rounds) might skew the thing
greatly. Perhaps split the distribution in the individual
rounds between trash and academic? I don't know...
