Why would you subsidize any of the cost? A venture
like this should make money for your program, not lose
it. You'd be giving up a week of your lives and lots
of your program's money, and getting what in return?
Exposure? Enrichment of the quizbowl community in general?
The fun of meeting high school kids? These seem like
small benefits compared to the costs.
Besides,
you said yourself that other camps are much more
expensive. Why not put your prices on a par with theirs?
However, if it's anything like Andy Goss's hypothetical
camp, I'd like to come.
