With the exception of
getting lost while driving back and ending up at (1), I
thought that this was a really (2) tournament. I still
have a few comments...

1. Why were there so
many questions on (3) and so few on (4)? On the bright
side, I heard my first question on (5), and I was
really happy - I think that NAQT needs to have more of
them. At least one hockey answer was (6), whom I've
actually HEARD of.

On a whole, however, I thought
the questions were a little too (7) - I mean, this is
a national tournament, and you'd think that NAQT
would have seen this when they were playtesting
packets.

NAQT also needs to address the fact that it has too
much trash - the first three questions I got right
were on (8), (9), and (10). Since I'm a history major,
I was particularly disappointed that there were no
questions on (11) or (12). And just having one question on
(13) was wrong.

2. I thought that this year's
crop of moderators was (14) overall. Particularly
notable was Dwight Kidder - I never knew that someone
could read (15) questions in a timed tournament. Also
impressive was Dr. Chuck's impression of (16), which I
thought was particularly realistic.

3. I thought
NAQT chose a strange format - teams played (17) games,
which I thought was a lot - and yet we still played way
too much against our local rival. NAQT really needs
to work on this.

Even worse were the playoffs
- the best way to describe it is a combination of
(18)'s format and (19)'s. Suffice it to say, it was
strange enough that (20) and (21) won it
all.

Well, that's about it. I look forward to next year's
ICT, which will supposedly be at (22) - and should be
a lot of fun. I'm now off to a trash tournament,
where the Gerbils' name will be an interesting take on
(23).
