Well I have somewhat recovered from my weekend in
St. Louis and I wanted to thank WUSTL for running an
excellent tournament. This was the best large scale
tournament I have ever been at, possibly the best ever run.
>From what I saw in Div I the tournament ran smoothly.
WUSTL provided a great catered lunch and dessert of
frozen custard (to Alice Chou's delight) as well as
t-shirts to all of the participants. Even the presence of
a film crew in the Div I building didn't disturb
the tournament. I think that WUSTL has set a standard
for national tournaments that might be hard pressed
to beat.
The city of St. Louis was also a
great. The Budweiser tour is a must, hey it's free
booze! The arch was fascinating, getting to the top was
a bit of an adventure. The only disappointment was
being unable to buy "cheap beer" store brand beer
because of some weird rule they have about selling to out
of towners.
